Amanda is a Family Liaison for FII-Detroit. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Human Development and Family Life from the University of Kansas, a Post B.A. Paralegal Certificate from The University of Detroit-Mercy, and a master’s degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education from the University of Michigan where she matriculated as a Rackham Fellow. Amanda has had an array of work experiences. Since 2001, she has worked in Detroit as a consultant and advocate to give a voice to families who are disenfranchised and underrepresented. Additional experience includes service as a paralegal, an art and music teacher, a Workplace Education Specialist for Ford Motor Company a grant reviewer for the Federal Government, a Parent Educator, and a freelance writer. Amanda maintains, however, that her most significant and meaningful work has been serving as a full time mother to her five daughters who she home educated for more than 15 years.
