Chicago Site Director
After completing her Master of Public Affairs (MPA) in 2011, Carolyn moved to Chicago to serve as an AmeriCorps volunteer with Public Allies. In 2012, she was recruited to work on President Obama’s re-election campaign in Virginia. Since then, she has worked on a variety of political and issue campaigns here in Chicago including a citywide high school voter registration campaign and a successful campaign for same day voter registration. She also managed a team of organizers who registered 10,000 new voters on the South Side of Chicago as part of the minimum wage campaign. She has always been a passionate advocate for social and economic justice. She believes that FII offers an innovative and effective approach to address the persistent economic insecurity that too many families experience here in Chicago.
