FII Growth Capital Campaign: S-U-C-C-E-S-S!
In 2015, FII successfully closed a multi-year growth capital campaign, exceeding our original goal by raising more than $13,000,000 to support the organization’s continued infrastructure growth and site expansion. We are grateful to all investors in this campaign, with particular thanks to New Profit, Heron Foundation, Kellogg Foundation, Eos and the Ray & Tye Noorda Foundation. These funds will allow FII to bring our innovative model to scale, and to explore new partnerships with business, government and academic institutions. With these funds we have also launched our new data platform and analytics division, allowing us to reach thousands of additional families in the years ahead.
FII Boston Celebrates Diversity With Food
On January 9th, FII-Boston families came together for a Winter Celebration to share pride in their individual cultures. More than 20 families prepared and shared their culture-specific meals, then entered their dishes in a contest. More important, our families were able to connect with other partner families over a plate of delicious and culturally diverse food. Roughly 10 prizes were raffled off, including a 40″ tv, game console, movie passes and gift cards. Past FII-Boston fellows were honored, and 2016 fellows were introduced. Overall, families and fellows were in great spirits, and had fun meeting and mingling while their children had their faces painted, learned to jump double dutch and danced with to the tunes of a DJ.
Your Year-end Contributions at Work!
FII has successfully completed our second year-end donor appeal and are pleased to announce that your contributions, totalling more than $50,000, are going directly to our Resource Hub for FII families in 2016. Donations in amounts ranging from $5 – $5,000 came in from stakeholders at all levels of the organization: families, friends, staff and board. Thank you all for your first time, continuing and matching donations! These critical funds are already being put to work for our hard-working families. Special recognition goes to board chair Tony Mayer for spearheading our major donor efforts in 2015 with a generous personal donation, and for his fundraising efforts on FII’s behalf!
