Interview by: Tina Brown, National Narrative Shifter, FII-Cincinnati
Hello, my name is Crystal, and I am with Cincinnati Price Hill Healthy Homes block by block team. I wanted to share my experience with FII. I have been a part of FII organization since November 2017. The women in our cohort are women that I work with day to day.
At first it was hard to find a time to meet monthly. Eventually, we decided to meet every last Saturday of the month. We met every month, we talked, we had fun, we made goals and even accomplished them. The women use FII funds in many different ways. We put food on the table, pay bills, go on a vacation, get savings accounts, remodel our homes, get our cars repaired, pay off debts and other things.
I am extremely grateful to be a part of FII, and I love journaling. It’s not something I do regularly in my life, but when I do the journal each month for FII, I see my progress from where I started, where I am now and how much I have grown. I can see my goals, and my accomplishments, and what I still need to do to get things accomplished. With FII I started a savings account and continue to build that savings. FII overall is a great experience.
