Within this short period of time I’ve managed to get on a weight loss plan. I lost 47 lbs. so far! My husband and I cleared delinquent bank accounts with the help of the quarterly data stipends. We now both have an active checking and savings account. My husband got hired as Patient Recruitment Coordinator and he loves his new job. I made a big decision and decided to go back to work so I enrolled my son in daycare and completed an 8-week job-readiness program. I was offered a Full Time Permanent position as an Administrative Assistant in the Downtown Boston area.

My children are doing amazing! My daughter is still an honor roll student and has taken on lots of responsibility. She is commuting home from school on her own using public transportation and soon will be commuting to school on her own as well. My son has completely transitioned into daycare and has developed a great vocabulary!

My husband and I started our own nonprofit called “The Kitchen Table” where we provide dining room sets for working families and individuals in need. We also provide other resources as they become available. We are in the process of applying for our 501c3. Also, after applying for one of Fii’s resources, The 0% interest loan, my credit score jumped 20 points! Our current goals are to improve our credit scores, save and buy a home!

The women in my group are very supportive. Our monthly meetings are full of helpful information. We offer suggestions and encourage one another. I still have a ways to go but I am confident that I will reach my goals.

Wife and mother of two children: age 13 and 1 years.
