Jessica Withers, National Narrative Shifter

by William Goodwin

Have you ever met someone and thought, WOW I need to step up my game?

Well Please meet Jessica Withers (or Muffin as she is affectionately nicknamed).

Jessica is one of FII’s National Narrative Shifters. She is a resident of Cambridge Massachusetts, and serves from FII’s Greater Boston Site. In 2016 Jessica started her own Fitness Training Business, fittingly named “Motivated by Muffin.”

However, Jessica’s journey to fitness started rather innocently. She was always very athletic in high school, being the eldest of 8 siblings (6 girls & 2 boys). After graduating, she went on to college. But at Endicott College (where is earned an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology) there were no sports or athletics. That proved to be key, because as Jessica says “earning a degree doesn’t always mean immediate success, especially if it’s not what you love.”  She realized that athletics was her true calling.

In 2016 Jessica joined FII, along with her cousin and best friend, and together they formed the Women in Power FII Family Group. Jessica used FII funds to purchase her first fitness equipment, and the rest is history.

It’s been two years now, and the group still meets each month. In fact as a result they formed the Cambridge Community Connection, a community based resource group, funded by their own donations, to host events and help others in the community to find their passion.

Jessica’s motto is: Passion for Purpose and Profit.

Muffins anyone?
