Ngozi in New Orleans, who used his FII audit payments to purchase materials to build a “snowball” stand. Ngozi not only started his own business, he is employing local youth and teaching them financial accounting skills.
Miriam in San Francisco, who has four children who have attended private schools and have earned scholarships through FII and other organizations.
Carlos and Rosa in Albuquerque, who chose to get off of government subsidies, due to frustration with how it made them feel. The husband has been doing extra side jobs, and his wife is working at a health collective, learning to make nutritional smoothies.
The Clark family in Detroit, who applied for an FII loan to cover credit card bills and free up cash to help offset the family’s education and transportation costs. They are deeply invested in improving the school system in Detroit and are are board members of the Brightmoor Alliance.
