FII is pleased to share with you that Jessica Taubner will join us as FII-Greater Boston’s Site Director in January 2018. For the last six years, she served as Chief of Staff for Boston City Councilor At-Large Ayanna Pressley, which followed her two years as her Policy Director. Since 2014, Jessica has also been an integral member of the FII-Greater Boston Advisory Council, and is intensely passionate about addressing issues of inequality in our region.
“I believe deeply in the mission and the model of FII, namely that human connection is the key ingredient to our individual and collective success, and that people living in poverty already possess the genius, talent, and skills they need to improve their lives. I have had the great pleasure and challenge of experimenting with mindful and cooperative governing—breaking down silos between community and government and working together to enact effective solutions to our toughest challenges; I am excited to continue that exploration from outside the halls of government, following the lead of families,” stated Jessica
Over the last eight years together, FII-Greater Boston has developed into FII’s largest site in the nation with 1,000 families and growing. FII families have consistently demonstrated how they transform their communities by addressing economic and social mobility and changing the stereotypes and perceptions of low-income working families. Jessica’s deep government, policy, and relationship building experience will be crucial in our efforts to advance FII’s movement to shift perceptions and policies in Greater Boston and beyond.
