FII Founder Awarded 2013 Prime Mover Fellowship

Prime Movers is a fellowship program for emerging and established social movement leaders in the US. Mauricio Lim Miller, FII’s Founder and President has been awarded one of seven 2013 Prime Movers fellowships.

Inspired by the hard work and sacrifice of his mother, Mauricio has committed his life to dismantling stereotypes and other barriers to economic and social mobility for low-income families. As Founder and President of the Family Independence Initiative, he works to activate low-income residents, foundations, the media, policymakers, and others across the U.S. to collectively re-think our social and economic systems so we can build one that fortifies social connections, invests in initiative, and honors self-determination.

The other 2013 Prime Movers are Will Allen, Growing Power, Inc.; Judith Browne-Dianis, The Advancement Project; Rea Carey, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force; Malkia Cyril, The Center for Media Justice; Sarita Gupta, Jobs with Justice; and Benjamin Jealous, NAACP.
