Felismina De Pina

Before enrolling in FII, I was all over the place and getting nowhere. I was in my last semester of college, worked part time in retail sales and juggled being a mom and wife. With my hands being pretty full, it seemed like no matter how hard I tried or how much I did, I still ended up right back where I started, bills were paid, but still my family and I were living paycheck to paycheck.

Speaking to a friend about my struggles and frustrations she quickly brought up a project that she was a part of called FII-Boston ( and how their main purpose was to help families like myself, reach their goals by giving them that extra push through resources that are available to FII members only. I eagerly wanted in and thought this could be my chance to get to where I not only need to be, but wanted to be.

Thanks to FII’s many available resources, such as the 2:1 business match program, educational scholarship, day care grant, and no interest loan, I’ve already reached many of my goals. For example:

I’ve started FII have been truly astonishing. I continue to surprise myself. I’m much more confident and vocal than I’ve ever been. For example, I prepared and directed my first fashion photo-shoot. The whole experience was amazing; I reached out to Marketing Director Cara Freto from Saks Fifth Avenue and she agreed to sponsor my shoot with their merchandise. Having the opportunity to go into a high-end retail store like Saks and pull the latest fashion from some of my favorite designers like, Diane Von Furstenberg, Stella McCartney, Thakoon, and Lanvin was like a dream come true.

My ultimate goal is to become a Fashion Editor for one of my favorite fashion magazines. I know that there are certain steps I need to take to reach this goal and I believe now I’m finally on the right track and making progress. I would like to give a special thanks to the whole FII family and my team members, Rising Achievers, for all of your support. Without it I wouldn’t be the driven lady I am today, and stay tuned because the Rise of Felismina has just begun.

I’ve become a homeowner
